Sichuan cuisine is a style of Chinese cuisine originating from Sichuan Province. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province and has the most authentic Sichuan cuisine. 1. Sichuan Hotpot

A big pot filled with hot spicy oil and surrounded by plates of raw meats and vegetables. The pieces of meat and vegetables are sliced very small so they will cook very quickly. 2. Dan Dan Noodles

Dandan noodles or dandanmian is a noodle dish originating from Chinese Sichuan cuisine. It consists of a spicy sauce usually containing preserved vegetables (often including zha cai, lower enlarged mustard stems, or ya cai, upper mustard stems), chili oil, Sichuan pepper, minced pork, and scallions served over noodles. The dish can either be served dry or as a noodle soup. You must have a try.

 

3. Mapo Doufu

Mapo Doufu is a popular Chinese dish from Sichuan province. It consists of tofu set in a spicy sauce, typically a thin, oily, and bright red suspension, based on douban (fermented broadbean and chili paste) and douchi (fermented black beans), along with minced meat, usually pork or beef. Today, Mapo Tofu travels across ocean and win the good reputation in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Australia and other countries. From the home-cooked dishes, it has become an international dish.

 

4. Chaoshou (Meat Dumplings in Spicy Sauce)

Chao Shou is also a local specialty. Commonly known in Canton and the West as "wonton soup", the dumplings in this broth are soft, tender and stuffed with delicious ingredients. Chao Shou is a little similar to dumpling, also stuffed with pork and vegetables, and the difference is that the dough is thinner and served in a soup. There are two kinds of soups available: spicy, or not spicy. Each one makes the dish taste completely different.

 

5. Ma La Tang

 

In Chengdu, if you miss to taste Ma La Tang, you will never get the essence of the Chengdu eating culture. Ma La Tang is an excellent way to test your spicy food eating capacity.
