The Kyrgyz Republic, referred to as "Kyrgyzstan", is a landlocked country in Central Asia.
Kyrgyzstan borders Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest, and China to the east. Bishkek is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan.
There are more than 80 ethnic groups in the country. The country’s main ethnicity, Kyrgyz, accounts for 68.3%. Other ethnic groups include Uzbek and Russian. The per capita water resources of Kyrgyzstan rank among the top in the world.
