Miyajima island

Miyajima Island is also known as Itsukushima Island. It is located in Hiroshima of Japan. Miyajima Island is a must-see attraction when visiting Hiroshima. Brief Introduction

The Yanshima Shrine was built in 593 AD and has been repaired many times. It is about 10 kilometers long from north to south, 3.5 kilometers wide from east to west, and covers an area of 30 square kilometers. The highest peak on the island is 530 meters. It is known as “Island of faith" with the “Isukushima Shrine” listed in the World Cultural Heritage. [Momijidani Park]

Momijidani Park is beautiful in four seasons of year. However, it is the most popular spots in Momijidani during the red leaf viewing period about 200 maples with red leaves in autumn.

In addition, the Momijidani Park and Mt.Misen are connected with a cable car. About 2 hours walk, you can also reach the Misen forest known for its world heritage. The terminus of Momijidani Park is the Pidurangala Rock. There is a monument of vow of love, it can be said that lovers must go to the sight. The Daishoin Temple, which is far from the coast of Miyajima and in the mountains, is a Shingon temple that existed from the Heian period. It is the oldest temple in Miyajima Island.

Built on the sea, up to 16m, the O-torii Gate is the largest wooden structure in Japan and is also an iconic attraction of Miyajima. When the sea is low, you can walk to the side of the O-torii Gate.
