Day 2 Bangkok

the Grand Palace, Long-tailed boat ride along Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Bangkok

Today, a classic sightseeing tour will uncover the mystery of Bangkok, the charming capital of Thailand. The first must-see place is the Grand Palace, a palace complex that was once the home to the Thai king. Inside, its dazzling architecture, spectacular roof lines, extensive murals, and extravagant ornamentation, are the best proof of Thai people's creativity and craftsmanship.

Followed by is a long-tailed boat ride along the small canals of the Chao Phraya River. When the boat leaves the modern city center, you will enter a hidden historical area where people still live in traditional ways. You can see traditional Thai houses with carved designs instead of skyscrapers, and wave hello to them as cruising by the houses of the local people.

Before nightfall, step into the Wat Arun, perhaps better known as the Temple of the Dawn. With its 80-meter-high main tower decorated by colorful porcelain, rising on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, the temple is generally considered to be one of the most photogenic landmarks in Bangkok, especially at sunset.

Day 3 Bangkok - Kanchanaburi

Hellfire Pass Museum, Death Railway, Bridge over the River Kwai, Don Rak War Cemetery

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Kanchanaburi

Your destination today, the city of Kanchanaburi, will lead you to the time of World War Ⅱ. Visit the Hellfire Pass Museum firstly when you arrive. The museum tells the poignant stories of these prisoners of war and laborers, who were forced to use hand drills, pickaxes, and shovels to cut through the mountain to build the Death Railway. Nowadays, you can also walk along the trail to feel what the prisoners felt as they constructed the railway.

After lunch, continue to Krasae Cave with its wooden railway bridge where you have a nice view over the Kwai River. Later, go to Kanchanaburi Town where you can walk across the Bridge over the River Kwai and enjoy a boat ride on the Kwai River. The last stop is a visit to Don Rak War Cemetery to remember those who lost their lives during World War II during the construction of the 'Death Railway.

Day 4 Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya

Historic City of Ayutthaya, Bang Pa-In Summer Palace

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Ayutthaya

After breakfast, you will head to the Historic City of Ayutthaya, the second Siamese capital found in 1350, to discover more f Thailand's rich and compelling history. Once an important center of global diplomacy and commerce, and now an archaeological ruin and a World Heritage Site, Ayutthaya is reasonably compact with most of the must-see sights contained within the west side of the moated island area, including the Wat Chaiwatthanaram, the Wat Ratchaburana, the Wat Phra Si Sanphet, and the most impressive Wat Mahathat which is famous for the face of a stone Buddha peeking out from the roots of a Banyan tree. Though the city was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century, its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, still offer a fascinating glimpse into the city’s past size and splendor of its heyday.

En route to Ayutthaya, you will stop at the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a site that was first used by the Thai kings as a summer retreat in the 17th century.

Day 5 Ayutthaya - Lopburi - Sukhothai

Drive to Sukhothai via Lopburi, Wat Phutthaisawan, Phra Prang Sam Yot

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Sukhothai

Take some time to explore Wat Phutthaisawan, just outside of the city island of Ayutthaya. This riverfront temple survived during the Burmese-Siamese War and is still inhabited by monks. Inside, you will see a huge reclining Buddha image and a row of Sukhothai Buddha images, whose headdress and sitting posture make them easily distinguishable from other Buddhas.

Afterward, proceed north to Lopburi for a visit to Phra Prang Sam Yot, a 13th-century temple in Khmer style. It also has another famous name, Monkey Temple, which comes from a large group of long-tailed macaques living in and around the temple. Ramble around and play with these furry little mischief-makers, but be cautious of everything that they may snatch. You will reach Sukhothai in the early evening. Check into your hotel and take a rest.

Day 6 Sukhothai - Lampang

Sukhothai Historical Park, Sri Satchanalai Historical Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Lampang

The UNESCO-listed Sukhothai Historical Park is one of Thailand's cultural highlights, along with Ayutthaya. A deep exploration of the park will give an insight into the Sukhothai Kingdom, which is commonly described as "the first Thai kingdom". The remains of the royal palace and countless beautiful temple ruins within the old walls, covering an area of 29,000 acres, all are the epitome of that era.

Only 55 km north of the town of Sukhothai lies the Sri Satchanalai Historical Park. It is similar to Sukhothai but smaller and less known. You can enjoy the historical atmosphere and find the best angles to shoot the ruins, without the crowd. Afterward, arrive at Langpang for overnight.

Day 7 Lampang - Chiang Rai

Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, Baan Sao Nuk, Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao, Drive to Chiang Rai

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Chiang Rai

In Lampang, one of the major cities of the Lanna Kingdom from the 13th to 18th centuries, several Lanna-style buildings are still well preserved. Before leaving for Chiang Rai, you will visit three of them today, to see the history and culture of Lanna.

One is Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, which is arguably the most beautiful wooden Lanna temple in Northern Thailand and the oldest standing wooden structure in Thailand. The next is a complex of Lanna-Burmese wooden houses named Baan Sao Nuk, where many displayed stuff that was used in northern people's lifestyles in the past are waiting for you to explore. The last one, Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao, is the principal Buddhist temple in Lampang built in an interesting mix of Lanna, Shan, and Burmese architectural styles.

Day 8 Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai

Golden Triangle, Long Neck Karen Village, White Temple, Drive to Chiang Mai

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: In Chiang Mai

Compared with its nearby town Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai retains its strong Lanna characteristics and has its own cultures and traditions. But it is often overlooked by travelers because it is the northernmost major city in the country, located in the jungle and mountainous areas. It is also the location of the famous Golden Triangle, where Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand are separated by the chocolate brown water of the Mekong River.

At Mae Sai Border, you can cross Myanmar for a short exploration, with an extra migration fee on your own. At the top of the Golden Triangle, you can stand on the Thai side and see Laos to your right and Myanmar to the left. At Long Neck Karen Village, you can meet colorfully dressed women with shiny rings around their necks. At the White Temple, you can see the amazing integration of Thai traditional elements with modern design and popular culture. After the tour, proceed to Chiang Mai for the night.

Day 9 Chiang Mai

Lanna family visit with cooking class, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Different from other Thai dishes, northern Thai food, also known as Lanna food, is characterized by salty and sour taste. This morning, you will head to the outskirts of Chiang Mai to visit a Lanna family. Upon arrival, the hospitable host will introduce you to his family, show you their family photos and houses, tell you the history of this area, educate you on the traditions of the Lanna family, lead you to explore his garden full of fresh vegetables and herbs will be used in cooking, and teach you to cook some authentic Northern Thai flavors. And finally, you can enjoy a delicious lunch – your work and some extra dishes - together with the family.

At the end of the tour, climb up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep on a hill for the panoramic views of the whole Chiang Mai city.

Thai elephants, as the symbol of Thailand, mostly live freely in the lush forest in the northern part of the country. Today you will join a small group to visit Baan Chang Elephant Park, making friends with these giant gentlemen.

We had an exceptional 11-day trip to Vietnam and Thailand that surpassed all expectations. We traveled with our entire family of 5 including our son who was adopted from Vietnam, going back for the first time. Top Asia Tour, with the help of Lily, fashioned a perfectly balanced trip of tours, an excursion to his birth town and orphanage, down time, and excursions. My teenage boys loved the experience from beginning to end

An Excellent Short Tour
Firstly, our tour guide David has provided support and comfort beyond his expectations and his role. He has bought everyone under his arm looking after each and every one. Has always been there even in odd times to finding out or arranging best of what's needed.
The experience and transports and accomodation has been great, different and memorable, doubt we would have done this as an individual trip.

What a trip!
Thank you for arranging such a fantastic trip to Thailand. This was my first holiday since the pandemic. Our guide Linda was amazing from the minute we met to saying our goodbyes. What a great way to discover a country with someone so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. She made sure we were all ok, healthy and happy with any suggestions she made. It was so nice to be with someone so full of energy - all week, with 9 of us! And so caring. Linda also gave us flexibility in what we wanted to do so it really felt like we were friends on a trip with someone who knew what she doing. I would highly recommend a trip like this and I will be looking to book my next tour next year. It’s nice to not have to think about every step of the trip as I usually work out my own itinerary and try to see as much as possible when I visit a country, but this was all taken care of and I definitely experienced things I wouldn’t have been able to were I alone. The quality of accommodation and transport was fantastic as well. See you next year!

We had the best time!
I went on the Thai Experience Tour arranged by Top Asia Tour and I can't recommend it more! I had the best time traveling with an amazing bunch of people. Before this trip I was a first-time solo traveller. The accommodation, the food and all the activities were so well planned and special. My highlights were the floating bungalows, the visit to the Elephant Sanctuary and the Sarana Bungalows. My tour guide Ben was awesome and always around whenever we needed him and he made sure we had the best time!

Grace came and picked us up from the airport in Bangkok she was really friendly messaging us to make sure we knew she would be there and she got the taxi to the hotel with us and told us what there was in the area for us to see. She was always contactable for any questions or problems even before our tour started. We then met Ming and Oat the following day on the first night of the tour who were so friendly and took the time to get to know us and spend the time with us. We also met our tour guide Gun who is so friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable. Grace, Ming, Oat and Gun have made this whole experience amazing with their support, fun and knowledge of the places. They were all constantly taking pictures of our group having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime. The first 8 days with Ming, Grace and Oat were so lovely as they are doing such a great job, they are all going to be such great tour guides! Nothing was ever too much to ask any of them and they always checked to make sure you are okay! Thank you to all of them for making the experience amazing!

We really loved Thailand and Laos, the accommodation was great and the trips excellent as were both our guides the only reason for not giving 5 stars is because when we arrived in Bangkok early morning after a sleepless flight we were told our room would not be ready till 2pm. We were exhausted but had to wait in the reception for 4-5 hrs even though the hotel was half empty due to coronavirus. We did understand that is hotel's regulation. I would just like to say that our guide Ken was exceptional. He helped us to communicate with the hotel and let us check in around 10 a.m. He also would not leave us until we were at the airport with tickets in hand. I really do hope that you recognise his dedication and professionalism.

Jeremy was great! He had lots of energy and kept the group upbeat even in bouts of long travel. Great experiences of the nightlife throughout this trip, and a good organized way to see different areas. We definitely could not have seen Thailand without Jeremy! He was intuitive to everyone's needs and very welcoming. Definitely made lifelong friends on this trip! The accommodation was comfy beds with subpar bathrooms but that's Thailand! Traveling was hard but not much Top Asia Tour could do about that, they kept it organized! Thanks for the great memories!

We have been planning a trip with Top Asia Tour for the past few weeks. 3 girlfriends and I are traveling to Thailand in January. We started looking at big bus trips, since we don’t know the country or language but didn’t like the restrictions of doing only what they had on their itinerary. I research trips thoroughly and discovered Top Asia Tour. Again, I researched them as much as possible but didn’t find any red flags so started working with Joyce. What a wonderful experience! She is very professional and pleasant. She adjusted our itinerary, answered all questions, and organized an amazing trip. She answered promptly. I was a little hesitant about working with a company in China, but the deposit was made through PayPal which made me feel better. I will post again when we return, but I anticipate a fabulous trip. Thank you, Joyce, for all your help! I hope I can work with you again in the future.

From when our guide picked us up at Bangkok until we left Laos the holiday was well organized and with a good range of activities. The guides were very knowledgeable. The only drawback to the holiday was that being vegetarian we seem to have well-cooked but rather bland tasting dishes. Eating at different restaurants meant that we quite often had similar dishes throughout the holiday.

We had 22 wonderful days in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Every time we arrived in a new place, there was always someone waiting for us. This really comforted us a lot. Reduce our nervous feeling in a totally strange place with no language understanding. We were picked up from the airport with our luggage stored in a van every time then assisted on hotel check-in and toured with our private chauffeur and tour guide. Our tour guides are very professional and knowledgeable about their country and history and made us feel very welcome and relaxed like touring with old friends.

For anyone that wants adventure and a fabulous experience, I would suggest the 11 day Thailand Experience tour with Top Asia Tour. So much fun. Words cannot express how wonderful the guides were, and how they took care to keep us safe and teach us about the beautiful country of Thailand. Lots of walking, but at 75 years old, I did fine. So many places that most tourists don’t even know exist. . So very happy I did this trip.
