Chiang Rai Guide

Chiang Rai was founded in 1262 and was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom of Thailand in the 13th century. It is now a distribution center for rice, tea, fruits, and wood in northern Thailand. Covering an area of 11,678 square kilometers,  Chiang Rai is about 785 kilometers away from Bangkok City and located on high ground with an altitude of 580 meters. The cool and dry season in Chiang Rai is from November to February,  while the hot and humid rainy season is from March to September, with an average annual temperature of about 24.6 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is recommended to visit Chiang Rai from November to February. With green trees and beautiful scenery, Chiang Rai is a quiet and simple city.
