Shanghai Tower is located in the core area of Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone of Pudong New Area, which is a landmark skyscraper in Shanghai with a height of 632 meters. Shanghai Tower is the tallest architecture in China and the second tallest building around the world. It is located in the junction of Lujiazui Financial Trade Zone, Dongtai Road, Yicheng South Road and Garden Stone Bridge Road. Shanghai World Financial Center stands to the east and Shanghai Jinmao Tower stands to the north of Shanghai Tower. From the top of three skyscrapers, they present a spiraling upward trend.
 

The Structure of Shanghai Tower

Shanghai Tower was built in 2008 and completed in 2014. The trial operation was started in 2016 and the "Top of Shanghai" sightseeing hall on the 118th floor was opened officially to the public on April 26, 2017. The total construction area of Shanghai Tower is 578,000 square meters. There are 127 floors above the ground with an area of 410,000 square meters and 5 floors below the ground level with an area of 168,000 square meters.
 

The shape of Shanghai Tower looks like a guitar pick from the top. As the height increases, each layer twists about one degree.
