Day 1 Arrival Tokyo

Day 2 Tokyo - Tranditional Japan

Tsukiji Fish Market, Edo Tokyo Museum, Asakusa, Asakusa Kannon Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street

We start your private Japan tour heading to the Tsukiji Outer Fish Market and see what was once part of the largest wholesale fish market in the world. We continue to the Edo Tokyo Museum which tells the story of the development of Japan's capital city Tokyo with full-sized replica displays. 

Afterward, We will have a proper teppan-yaki lunch with the world-famous premium wagyu beef as the main course.

Our final stop will take us to the historical Asakusa area, a famous cultural landmark in Tokyo, where we will visit Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street before heading back to the hotel.

In case the Edo Tokyo Museum is closed, we will visit Kiyosumi Garden & Fukagawa Edo Museum.

Day 3 Tokyo - Modern Japan

Imperial Palace Plaza - East Gardens, Shibuya Sky, Shibuya Scramble Crossing, Shibuya Hachiko, Omotesando, Harajuku Takeshita Street, Meiji Shrine, Kagurazaka

Our first stop of the day will have us heading to the magnificent Imperial Palace Plaza - the East Gardens; an oasis of calm in the urban heart of Tokyo.

We will make our way to the bustling streets of Shibuya where you will find a panoramic view of Tokyo from Shibuya Sky as well as the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing and the Hachiko Statue. Continuing on, the swanky and trendy Omotesando and Harajuku Takeshita Street await where you can find eclectic fashion trends and boutiques alongside popular treats for those who have a sweet tooth.

A short walk over and we find ourselves at the culturally important Meiji Shrine where you can find nature and history blend together. We finish our day exploring the fashionable Kagurazaka district for some shopping.

Day 4 Tokyo - Hakone - Tokyo

Mt. Fuji : Hakone Shrine - Hakone Ropeway - Owakudani - Hakone Open-Air Museum

Today, we headed to Hakone, a popular weekend getaway destination from Tokyo. Here, you get to see sulfur smoke coming from active volcano vents and, if weather permits, a stunning view of Mt. Fuji.

The first stop is Hakone Shrine. Housed in a cedar forest, this serene shrine is famous for being a spiritual power spot. Be sure to take advantage of some photo ops of this iconic shrine.

Then we will take you on a relaxing ride on the Hakone Ropeway down to Owakudani Valley. The ropeway provides a scenic view of the Hakone area, if weather permits, Mt. Fuji. We will explore Owakudani for a short amount of time when you arrive, giving you enough time to marvel at the active natural volcanic vents as well as try the black egg. Boiled in one of the vents, it is said that eating one of these eggs will add 7 years to your life!

After spending a busy, productive morning, we will have Hoto, a hot udon noodle dish served in an iron cast pot that is the perfect comfort food. After lunch, we are headed to the Hakone Open-Air Museum. Enjoy viewing the numerous statues and stroll through beautiful nature and the stunning landscape of Hakone. We then proceed to back to Tokyo.

Day 5 Tokyo - Nagano - Takayama

Visit Nagano Mastsumoto Castle, Move to Takayama

We spend the day making our way inland towards Takayama. Then we will drive to Matsumoto where we will be visiting the intimidating Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan’s oldest existing castles. With its all-black exterior, the structure gives an air of grandeur and poise meant to ward off any invaders.

Day 6 Takayama

Takayama Old Town, Takayama Yatai Kaikan

We arrive in Takayama with our first stop being the historic, well-preserved Takayama Old Town. With many of the structures built during the Edo Period, take a look at what life was like strolling through Takayama in the 19th century.

We will visit the Yatai Kaikan where you can find impressive floats that are used during the Takayama Festival, considered one of the three most beautiful festivals in Japan.

Day 7 Takayama - Kanazawa

Takayama Morning Market, Shirakawago, Nagase House, Ohmicho Ichiba, Kanazawa Castle, Higashi Chaya District

The first half of our day will be spent exploring more of Takayama as we visit the bustling Morning Market where locals can find freshly picked produce and snacks.

We then head to Shirakawago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the unique thatch-roofed houses where you can get a taste of a truly rural village atmosphere.

Leaving the nostalgic village, we will make our way to Kanazawa, known as "a little Kyoto". The first stop is the famous Ohmicho Ichiba where you will surely spark your appetite as we browse through the local market also known as Kanazawa’s Kitchen due to its size. The tour continues to the Kanazawa Castle and we will take a relaxing stroll through the Higashi Chaya District where you can sip on freshly made matcha or green tea and snack on traditional Japanese sweets.

Day 8 Kanazawa - Kyoto

Kenrokuen Garden, Nomura Samurai Family Residence, Nagamachi Yuzenkan

Your group will make its way to the first destination considered to be one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan, Kenrokuen Garden. Marvel the landscape and scenery at this truly magnificent sight. 

We then visit Nomura Samurai Family Residence where the Nomura family's restored Edo-era home features samurai artifacts, a garden & a tea room.

We end the day enjoying beautiful traditional works called "Kaga Yuzen" which refers to a traditional technique of dyeing silk fabrics for kimonos or products before leaving Kanazawa to the next destination Kyoto.

Day 9 Kyoto

Arashiyama, Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizu Temple, Japanese Traditional Tea Ceremony

Our Kyoto adventure begins in Arashiyama where you will enjoy a rickshaw ride through the peaceful bamboo forest for a unique experience. We continue with a visit to the Golden Pavilion, a stunning building famous for its gold leaf-covered exterior. For a special dining experience, you may choose to enjoy lunch as you spectate a Maiko performance as well as a rare chance to interact and take pictures(optional activity at your own expense based on your own tour budget).

After lunch, we will be at the impressive Kiyomizu Temple, famous for its large veranda which offers a panoramic view of Kyoto.

We then partake in a quintessentially traditional Japanese experience. We learn to make a cup of matcha via the traditional tea ceremony that Japanese culture is known for. Be sure to explore the charming Ninenzaka area where you can find traditional goods and sweets before heading back to the hotel.

Day 10 Kyoto - Nara - Osaka

Todaiji Temple, Nara Garden, Kasuga Tasha Shrine

Have a leisurely breakfast in the hotel. Today our guide will escort you to explore Nara, which is near Kyoto. Meet at the hotel and take a coach to Nara. The first stop in Nara is the Todaiji Temple through Nara GardenKasuga Tasha Shrine is another highlight in Nara, famous for its lanterns, which have been donated by worshipers. After a stop at Nara Nagomikan (a gift shop), where tourists could buy some souvenirs for their loved ones. 

After that, drive for half an hour to Osaka and overnight there.

Day 11 Departure Osaka
