History

Jumeirah Mosque is a mosque in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that is open to non-Muslims and offers guided tours to visitors who want to learn about Islam and Emirati culture. The mosque was built in 1976 in the traditional Fatimid style that originated from Syria and Egypt . It was a gift from the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai and father of the current ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum . It is said to be the most photographed mosque in Dubai , and it features on the AED 500 note. The mosque can accommodate up to 1,200 worshippers at a time.

The mosque is a stunning example of the Fatimid style of architecture, which is inspired by the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Syria. The entire structure is made of white stone that is carved with intricate patterns, Arabic letters, and motifs of sails and arches. The mosque has five domes and two minarets that rise above the mosque and display the Islamic art and calligraphy. How to visit the Jumeirah Mosque

During the tour, you will learn about the history and architecture of the mosque, as well as the basics of Islam and its five pillars. You will also witness the demonstration of the wudu, the ritual washing before prayer, and hear the call to prayer from the minaret. The tour is interactive and friendly, and you are welcome to ask any questions you may have about the religion and culture of the UAE.

There is an outdoor garden on the west side of the attraction. The garden has fountains, tall trees, green grass and many blooming flowers. You can also see some unknown birds walking on the lawn.
