Day 1 Arrival Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar at Chinggis Khan airport or train station, our local tour guide will meet you and transfer you to Hotel. The hotel check-in is after 2p.m, Free time, and rest to adjust for the time zone.

Day 2 Ulaanbaatar

Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar square, Parliament House, National Museum of Mongolia, Zaisan hill, Mongolia Folk Performance

After breakfast in the hotel and start a city discovery tour to Gandan Monastery where you will see a huge gold-plated Buddha, the symbol of Mongolian national pride and cultural revival. And there are other highlights - Sukhbaatar Square, Parliament House and National Museum of Mongolia - where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present time.

 

Excursion to Zaisan Hill Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. At night, you will enjoy the Mongolian Folk Performance with songs and contortion acts.

Day 3 Ulaanbaatar - Terelj National Park (100 km)

Chinggis Khaan Statue, Terelj national park with horse-riding

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel, then check out and take a tour of the Chinggis Khaan Statue, the biggest equestrian statue in the world - 40 meters tall stainless-steel statue symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace, on the bank of the Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog.

 

Drive to Terelj National Park to visit the Temple of Ariyapala and enjoy a stunning view. Explore the famous Turtle Rock and the extraordinary frock formations on.

Day 4 Terelj National Park – Hustai National Park (55 km)

Nomadic life experience at Mongol Nomadic tourist camp, Hustai National Park

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In Ulaanbaatar

 

After breakfast, drive to the Mongol Nomadic tourist camp. Experience the nomadic life of traditional Mongolian families and herders.   Dress in Mongolian costumes like a local and take photos, learn Mongolian archery, watch the raising of newborn lambs, herders milking sheep and goats, learn the wool felt making, etc. Hear vividly demonstrates the nomadic life and customs and culture of the Mongolians.

After lunch, drive to the Hustai National Park (55 km), which is a nature reserve for the conservation of Mongolian wild horses under natural conditions, where there is a precious wild animal [Mongolian wild horse herd] in the Mongolian steppe. Sightseeing around the national park and see the “Takhi”, Przevalsky’s, and finally return to Ulaanbaatar (110 km) by car.

Day 5 Ulaanbaatar - the Gobi Desert (580 km)

Drive to the Gobi Desert, Baga Gazariin chuluu

Early morning, we will drive to the Gobi Desert (580 km/). By the way, visit the “Baga Gazariin Chuluu” translated as a “Small land Rock” protected area. These mountains with granite stone massifs are located in the Mongolian granite rock zone, Dund Gobi Province. The area is a 15km long and 10 km wide stone massif. The highest point is Tahilgat Mountain (1758 m) in the Northwest part of the stone massif. Wild sheep, ibex, and marmot inhabit here, Surtiin am is one of many beautiful places in Baga Gazriin stone massif. This is a narrow canyon with asp, birch, white wicker, and elm tree, as well the ruin of a stone temple and the site of 2 yurts where monks lived and meditated since the seventieth century. Continue driving to the Gobi Desert. Overnight stay in Ger camp

Day 6 The Gobi Desert – Bayanzag

Gobi Museum, Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, Yolyn Am, Bayanzag

After breakfast, Visit Gobi Museum, then drive to the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park(40km). which encompasses the "Three Beauties" peaks and the most easterly points of the Altai Mountains. Visit Yolyn Am, or ‘Eagle Valley’, which is a wonderfully picturesque place with ice even in summer and it surrounded by sheer rocky walls which form incredible canyons.

 

In the afternoon visit Bayanzag/100km/, also known as the “Cemetery of Dinosaurs” a picturesque Saxaul forest that is internationally famous for dinosaur remains. Dinosaurs inhabited Bayanzag 70 million years ago. In 1922, Dr. Roy Chapman Andrews life discovered the first dinosaur nest in flaming cliffs. This area is like a real-life Jurassic Park, as you walk on a land where dinosaurs once lived, Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 7 Bayanzag - National Park Khongoryn Els (220 km)

Have breakfast at the camp and drive to “Khongoriin els” sand dunes. Visit the National Park Khongoryn Els (220 km), with sand dunes highest and most spectacular in Mongolia, some of them reaching 800 meters in height., overnight stay in Ger camp

Day 8 National Park Khongoryn Els – Dalanzadgad (220 km)

Drive back to Dalanzadgad, Mongolian camel herdsman family visit

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In Local Tourist Camp

 

In the morning, we drive back to Dalanzadgad (220 km). In the afternoon Visit the Mongolian camel herdsman family. You will have an opportunity to take a camel ride tour if you wish (at your personal expense). Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 9 Dalanzadgad- Ongii Temple (240 km)

Set off in the morning, and drive to the site of Ongii Temple (240 km). It had about a thousand lamas before the communists' destruction in 1937. The temple was founded by a lama named Bari Yonzon and is located on a small but panoramic cliff on the bank of the Ongi River. There we have an opportunity to experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. Overnight stay in ger camp.

Day 10 Ongii Temple – Kharakhorum (220 km)

Kharakhorum - the ruins of the great Mongol Empire, Kharakhorum Museum

After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Kharakhorum (220 km), which is the symbolic ruins of the 13th-century capital of the Mongol Empire. Now, the ruin lies low confronting against time and hiding Chinggis Khan’s secrets beneath its name – “black soil”. Visit Kharakhorum Museum and see the artifacts collected from the ruins.

 

 Overnight stay in a Local hotel or Ger camp.

Day 11 Kharakhorum - Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan (300 km)

Erdene-Zuu, the ruin of Capital city Mongolian Great Empire, Taihar Chuluu Rock, Volcano of Horgiin Togoo

Say goodbye to the Kharakhorum and drive to visit the “Erdene-Zuu” --- Mongolian first Buddhist monastery, which was built in 1586 by the order of Abtai Sain Khan. Also, explore the ruin of the Capital city Mongolian Great Empire.

 

Then drive to Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan (300 km), by the way, visit Taihar Chuluu Rock. The rock is a steep-sided pinnacle of granite with a height of 25 meters. It rises abruptly from the flat grassland in the basin of the Tamir River. Locals worship the rock as a deity.

 

At last drive to Volcano of Horgiin Togoo, visit to the Volcano of Horgiin Togoo and stay overnight stay in Ger camp (yurts)

Day 12 Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan - Murun town

Drive to Murun town

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the Hotel of Murun

 

Depart from Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan, and drive to Murun town, the center of the Khovsgol province. Overnight stay in a local hotel.

Day 13 Murun town – Khatgal Village

In the morning, have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. Drive for 110 km to the Khatgal Village, which locates on the south coast of Khuvsgul Lake.  Khuvsgul Lake located in the northern part of Mongolia, is an incredible natural wonder and a popular destination for travelers from all over the world. You will have a chance to take a motorboat tour.

Day 14 Khatgal Village – Tsaatan

Drive to Tsaatan, Reindeer breeding family visit and the local lifestyle experience

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the Local Tourist Camp

 

After breakfast, drive to Tsaatan and visit the reindeer breeding family. Explore the lifestyle of the Tsaatan people. Drive back to the camp visit to yak breeding family, tasting yak milk and dairy products. Free the beauty of the Lake. Overnight stay in Ger camp

Day 15 Tsaatan – Erdenet (450 km)

Drive to Erdenet

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the hotel of Erdenet

 

Enjoy a leisure breakfast at the camp, then drive to the Erdenet city for 450 km. Stay overnight in the local hotel.

Day 16 Erdenet – Darkhan - Ulaanbaatar (350 km)

Horse Fiddle Complex, Buddha Complex

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: In the hotel of Ulaanbaatar

 

After the hotel breakfast, we will set off for Darkhan City, which is about 130 km from Erdenet. We will visit Horse Fiddle Complex and Buddha Complex there. At last drive back to Ulaanbaatar for 220 km.

Day 17 Ulaanbaatar, Departure

Transfer to the airport

Meals: Breakfast

 

Enjoy some free time in the morning and check out from the hotel. Meet our local representative and transfer to the “Chinggis khan” International airport and departure.
