Paro is a city in the west of the Kingdom of Bhutan and the capital of Paro dzongkhag. Paro is a very beautiful city with a large number of charming tourist attractions. Paro Taktsang, also known as Tiger Cave Temple, is one of the most popular religious sites, located on a cliff above 2950 meters above sea level. It takes one and a half hours to two hours to climb to its peak from where you can get a bird's eye view of the bottom of the temple. Paro Dzong is the first Dzong seen by tourists entering Bhutan by plane. It is also considered to be Rinpung Dzong, meaning "castle on a pile of jewels". The dzong was built in the 16th century on the basis of the temple built by Master Lotus.
