Best Time to Visit Phuket

Phuket is one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. With so much to see and do - blue waters, gorgeous beaches, spicy Thai cuisine, endless entertainment and nightlife options, top-class shopping venues, and awe-inspiring culture, make sure you come here in your favorite climate and weather.
Phuket has a hot humid tropical climate with no winters. The island avoids the majority of the typhoons and tropical storms which occasionally batter Hong Kong and the Philippines. From May to October each year, the sun goes straight to the equator, it is the rainy season in Phuket. In November, the weather in Phuket will be slightly colder and the rainfall will decrease until April of the following year. So from November through April of the following year, it is peak tourist season. With Phuket 30 Year Average Temperature and Percipitation Picture, you will see it clearly.

Best Time to Go to Phuket (The Dry Season in Phuket)

The best time to visit Phuket is from November through April, or December through March. It is the time when Phuket is with less humidity and hotness but only comfort. This is the northeast monsoon season. Mainland Thailand blocks the monsoon rains, so there are only cool breezes and blue skies over Phuket. The average minimum temperature is around 24°C (75°F), and the average maximum temperature is about 32°C(89°F) .
The Phuket’s Annual Festivals during this time are The Phuket Vegetarian Festival (October/Novermber), New Year's Eve (December), Chinese New Year (February), Songkran Festival (April), and Phuket Gay Festival (April).

The Wet Season in Phuket

The Wettest Phuket weather is from May to October, the heaviest rainfall mostly occurs during these 5 months, especially in September. Average rainfall during this entire season is at about 250 mm, but don't let that make you down as it rains for a while and then take a nice long break before it restarts again. However, it is not always a good idea to go swimming in the sea as there are some strong undercurrents. There are many advantages to travel in Phuket during this time – airplane tickets and hotel rates will be much cheaper, also, it is less crowded than ever. You'll find the beaches, attractions, restaurants, and roads are relatively quiet.
The Phuket's Annual Festivals during this time are Kathu Street Festival (July) and The Phuket Vegetarian Festival (October/November).
